I also used this chair to give my daughter a bath and it should be marketed just for that because I bought 3 baby bath tubs and still used the Bumbo chair instead because none of the bath tubs stablize the baby to free up both hands to wash her, the Bumbo chair does exactly that. It is made of a soft flexable spongy material and painted in a plastic coating so it works great in water and drys quickly. There is a tray you can buy additionaly to make this into a feeding seat, my daughter was always comfortable in it.
