Can be used for children with special needs who have a hard time sitting upright unassisted. I purchased this car seat for my older daughter because I wanted a car seat for a larger child with buckles in it because she had too hard of a time with the selt belt using a regular booster seat.The stamp on the car seat is April 2005 but there is still a TON of life left in this seat. I freshly washed the seat cover with All Free and Clear and it is ready for use. The belts come off easily by simply threading them through the back. The cushions come off as well and can be adjusted up and down.The material is blue with red, green and black flecks in it. It is clean with no holes or tears. There are a few spots where the fabric is getting a little thin but the spots are very small (one on the seat, one on the back and one on the cushion). The buckles are clean and in working order. The shoulder straps are easily adjusted by pressing in the grey buckle to make it tighter. It has a 5 point harness. It also comes with a new tether strap which is not made by Columbia Medical. PLEASE NOTE: THE TETHER STRAP IS HANGING OVER THE TOP OF THE CAR SEAT JUST FOR THE PICTURE TO SHOW YOU THE STRAP. SOMEONE COMMENTED THAT IT LOOKED LIKE A TEAR IN THE FABRIC.
