At the hospital the Lactation Consultants worked with me using several different hospital pumps. I preferred the Medela brand - which is the Symphony line. Before leaving the hospital, I purchased the Medela Pump In Style Traveler Breastpump Backpack at the hospital. It was wonderful. I could use it at home or at the office and feel as though I was using the same quality of breastpump as at the hospital. My goal was to provide breast milk for one year. In February 2003, my freezer was full of breastmilk, so I slowly reduced down to one pumping a day. April 2003, I had enough supply for my son to reach his first birthday. I packed up the breastpump and all the extra supplies to use with my next child. Unfortunately, my next child did not come until five (5) years later. I was admitted into the hospital under emergency conditions. I gave birth to a 4 lb 8 oz preemie. Unfortunately, due to my sons size he was not able to breastfeed. I pumped at the hospital utilizing the same Symphony hospital brand. I was later admitted into ICU and given medication that would not allow for me to continue breastfeeding or pumping. I had already purchased all of the replacement supplies you see listed in this auction.
