It is a ring glider, meaning that it glides smoothly like a rocker and also swivels around 360 degrees. It is solid natural canvas over the hardwood frame, and is covered with a zippered slipcloth in a soft green poplin fabric with a thin blue and yellow stripe running through it. The fabric has some minor wear in the back corner, which in our room is back against the wall. I also have a gliding ottoman that goes with it - the fabric covering the ottoman is a soft matching yellow, but the fabric has some stains and could use a new covering (we did this ourselves using a staple gun.
